In 2011, RACB Sport decided to entrust the promotion of the Belgian Championship to external partners with a wealth of experience in management, marketing and promotion in motorsport, both nationally and internationally: Alain Penasse and Chris Courteyn. Under the label of “Action4Events,” the two rally specialists are joining forces through On-Event bvba, Alain Penasse’s marketing company, and Chris Courteyn Productions bvba. Action4Events is responsible for the promotion of the Belgian Rally Championship at all levels.

Since 2016, Chris Courteyn Productions bvba takes full charge of the promotion.

For more than 20 years, Chris Courteyn has been an authority on television productions in motorized sports. Rally is his great passion, but he also has internationally recognized expertise in track, motocross, truck trial, drag racing, powerboat racing and rallycross. Chris Courteyn’s camera teams are active in Belgium and in all corners of Europe, as they provide footage of the European Rally Championship (since 1994) and of various national championships. Since 1992, Chris Courteyn has been producing the images of the races of the Belgian rally championship. Images that can be seen all over Europe thanks to Chris’ close contacts with various broadcasters. Together with his son Stevy, Chris Courteyn continues to innovate in television picture production. In 2010, he televised several rounds of the Belgian Rally Championship live. During the Ypres Rally, he provided a total of no less than 181 hours of television for various national and international channels! Chris Courteyn is the promoter of the Belgian Rally Championship, ensuring excellent television coverage of the BRC.

Hugo Van Opstal - BRC Media Officer

Since 1995, Hugo Van Opstal has worked as a motorsport journalist for Autonews, the magazine of Belgian rally sport. Meanwhile, he is editor-in-chief of the Dutch-language edition. He also co-managed the communication of the Ford and Citroën promotional formulas as well as the Benelux Rally Trophy and the Euro Rally Challenge. He made his expertise available to various organizers as a press officer. As Press Officer of the Ypres Rally, he realized the book “Ypres Rally – 50 years” in 2014.

Within the organization of the Belgian Rally Championship, Hugo Van Opstal handles communications about the BRC.
